First off We’d like to jolly well give you a heartfelt welcome to Redwall path . This thread is a list of things that your chars (characters) can be, do, and become on this jolly ol’ site, wot! ;] the list goes as follows:
The animals your chars can be ;]
Hare, otter, squirrel, mole, mouse, sparra, badger, hawk, eagle, osprey, falcon, hedgehog, goose, buzzard, shrew, vole, ferret, fox, weasel, stoat, ermine, wildcat.
If we've forgotten any, as long as the animal has physically appeared in at least 2 Redwall books, you can have your char be that species. We all-knowing admins can be a bit forgetful at times, wot!
The ‘Roles’ He/She can partake in! (this is updated often, and roles DO fill up! ;] *Recorder *Assistant Recorder *Infirmary Keeper *Skipper of Otters *Log-a-log of Gousim (this can be a female char too, don'cha know. Follow Grenn's example!) *Hare officers *Badger Ruler (Vela will give up hers if anybod else wants one instead)
If you want your char to have a special position, post it here!

Hi, I'm Dartpaw. I'm new. I was looking at a role and thought it would be cool to have one I would like a role that has to do with writing or a recorder. But Dartpaw is also an adventurer so maybe he can have the special position as the creature that goes into the woodlands looking for writing quills and ink supplies as well as paper? "Writing Supply Gatherer?" He doesn't want something too pressuring but still wants to help in that field. If not then maybe "Gatehouse/library record organizer?" Either one would be pretty cool. Whatever you think is best.

Great idea Dartpaw. If you are looking for roles to play then you should head over here to make everything official. www.redwallpath.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=89&page=1Vela will be there to discuss the roles with you. Both 'Recorder' and 'Assistant Recorder' are open but if you want to change the title I am sure she will be able to sort something out. =D Then, she can make it official. I would do it myself but Vela knows more. And I think 'Writing Supply Gatherer' would be best, personally. And I can't wait to see him RPed!

Hey, didn't wolves appear in 2 books? Well, in one it was just a skin of one but... that counts? I guess...

Nope. Skin doesn't count, neither does a mention. Wolves were only in Bellmaker, anyway.

Buzzards have appeared in two books: they carried off Jerbilrats in Loamhedge, there was a Honey Buzzard name Buteo, also in Loamhedge, and pair of buzzards carried off a shrew in Mattimeo. When you say eagle and hawk, do you mean any British-native species, or only a species that has occurred twice? List of Birds of Great Britain: Accipitridae

Thanks, Aer, I'll add buzzard to the list. Eagle and hawk are a generalization, any type that actually lives in Britain. BJ always seems to have a different type of bird of prey in each book, so the general appearance rule doesn't count for them.

And Dusklight from my golden years at D.A.B was a Bat. (I don't think she echoed though)

I noticed that falcons appeared in Salamandastron in Laird Mactalon's Clan, and Skarlath in Outcast of Redwall is a kestrel. Kestrels are part of the same genus as falcons, Falco, and are basically falcons that can (and do) hover. I'm not sure if this counts, but I thought I should at least bring it up. Bats appear in Outcast of Redwall and Mossflower, though I had a vague memory of them in other books. Still, after researching I couldn't find anything about them being present in other books, other than bat-skin mentioned in Salamandastron, so I guess I was just imagining things. :-]

Oh, and don't forget about Wearets! They appeared in Loamhedge and Mattimeo, if I haven't forgotten.

What about rabbits? Would they be okay?

They were in two so they should (I hope!) so I can RP one and my character in it can argue with Elip on which is the "Superior" Lagomorph. LOL
