((READ THIS BEFORE YOU POST)) … Ok, so here’s the rp, Hellgates is the netherworld where all beasts who have lived their life without merit or civility, who killed innocents and harmed others go when their time has come. There are no demons, there are no chambers of pain. Just an endless jagged blackened landscape laying just beyond the river sticks. Each person who joins may have ONE character from the Redwall series and one original character. Character sheets are standard but must contain these topics: Killer: Who killed them (ex. Marten the warrior )
Cause of death: how did they die (ex. Stabbed through the heart)
Death mark: If they died of some injury then they would still have it in Hellgates (A deep cut in his chest ripping though his heart) ((note: if they died of pensioning or old age they wouldn’t have one))
Time since death: self explanatory (ex. More than one hundred seasons) Please post your characters in the OOC topic for this rp in the characters bios section of this site… (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((())))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Atunra sat on the rocky outcrop, moving her foot paws thought the murky black water, her eyes fixated on the boat in the red horizion. The sounds of the souls as they were entering their dark eternity made her look away. Suddenly the chain on her neck yanked hard. Gudlear, a tall badger still in a clean dress uniform scratched at the hole which passed through the side of his head as he shouted at her. “Keep an eye on that boat vermin!” “Yes… yes.” She said looking back on the dreary vassal.

Bleedfang sighed. The sight of souls were the only rememberance of life for the stoat. Bleedfang glared at the badger. "Stupid little pice of scum, who does he think he is?" Growled Bleedfang. He had been chained as well as Atunra a day after he had come to the Hellgates. The stoat wasn't sure what he was thinking...it just seemed like an hour after conversing with Gudlear, he was suddenly chained by the neck, force to do the bagders bidding. -~*~- Tsarmina stared at the black water. The awful water...the awful water...the awful water...She was not chained, unlike Atunra and Bleedfang, but Tsarmina was still in an awful position. Tsarmina had gone mad, ever since the day she entered Hellgates, the very sight of water made her shake, and her might would go into a fit of pure, insane fear. "Gingivere...Father...save me..." She whispered the same phrase Tsarmina said pratically every minute. Just becuase Hellgates didn't have demons and torture rooms, did not mean it was still torture.

Gudlear sneerd at the Stoat "what are you stairing at vermin!" he said yanking Atunra's neck harshly "come you! that ship is near, I want to be on teh shore when the new rotting vermin arive." The Pine martin simply nodded and fallowed her master.

Bleedfang let out a growl and tugged at his chains. One day he would escape Gudlear...and what would happen? Nothing. He was already dead. Gudlear might find him and beat Bleedfang, but he wasn't going to die. If that awful badger found him while he was escaping there would be another day...

((OOC: Sig, are you talking about the river Styx from greek mythology? Or is it just River Sticks? I got reeeaaaly intense with this one. I didn't mean for it to turn out that way. DX>))
BIC: The scraping of chains rang through Fira's head. She sat on the shore, watching the boat drift by through hollow eyes. Blood slowly dripped from the small cut on her left wrist. No matter how often she bandaged it, the blood always seeped through the rags that served as gauze. Regret decorated her entire frame, remnants of her past life flashing before her eyes like an old rerun, repeating itself over and over and over. Mother, Father, Mina, and Fen. Fen. His smile, his eyes, the way he frowned at her clumsiness. His eyes, frightened, as blood spurted from his ribs. The knife that killed him in her paw. His cold dead body at her feet. Her eyes, blurred by tears. The knife, cutting her own arm. Darkness. Numb. Pain. She shook her head slowly, her spine popping with the movement. She watched with dull eyes as a few deadbeasts crossed to the other side of the river. A crowd was forming as the new arrivals unloaded. Fira could never figure out what was the pleasure in looking at more animals come from the other world. A Master was dragging his two slaves behind him. Fira was glad she still wasn't old enough to become a slave. She had only been in Hellgates for 96 years. When she became one hundred, she would be assigned to a Master and become a slave herself. Fira had only four more years of so-called "freedom" left. Fira was sure that she would be assigned a terrible Master. For some reason, creatures that committed suicide were held in lower regard than other creatures. But Fira didn't really care about that. All she wanted was to see Fen again. To apologise and for him to forgive her. She would break free of her chains to achieve that.

Zetuge Bloodtounge sat on a stone at Hellgates, his eyes were glazed over; just as his that of his body when he was killed at Salamandastron. For not even the eyes of his soul could precept his surroundings after the grueling death he had gone through. It was over for him, he knew his time was up, he had done his evil, and by the punishment pf fate had eneded up where all who do evil reside for eternity. But his thoughts were not on himself, through the cold stone orb that was the heart of his soul, Zetuge could see the happenings above ground. Everything he saw involving his younger brother, Zaten Bloodtounge. Zetuge's only hope was to somehow, some way, warn his brother of the horrid place that awaited him if he kept on the broad, twisted path that lead to Hellgates. Zetuge clawed at the open gash on his chest, and scratched at the red ring around his neck that was where he was beheaded by Elip and Cregga that Lady Badger Lord. No blood dripped from either wound, as a spirit was unable to bleed, though every second sent Zetuge deeper into agonizing pain that he would feel for eternity.*
((time of being at Hellgates: 3 seasons/for the full story of Zetuge's death, go to the Fanfics board and read "A ROCKING Salamandastron"))

OOC: I'm going to go with the whole Greek Mythology thing and say the part of Hellgates they're in is the Fields of Asphodel. That is basically a the place in the Underworld where people who never did anything important go and sit in the field for eternity. Good stuff.... =.=
BIC: *A gong rang out over the fields. Fira looked up, clearing the shadows from her mind. Only in an emergency did the Masters ever ring the bell. As if tugged by an invisible force, Fira walked to the dock. She never ran. A commotion was happening in the ship, someone was trying to sneak onto the boat. "To think that the wonderful masters couldn't handle a rebellious murderer!" Fira thought sarcastically.
A ferret was fighting with all his might against a noble-looking mouse and a badger. She clawed at them, even though she knew that spirits could not feel pain. Her fiery eyes burned with some remnants of life. The fire rang out something in Fira's heart. She stepped forward, wanting to help the captured ferret.*

Zetuge stood from his rock; the place where he had been thinking for along time. He walked over to Fira who seemed to being seeing something of great interest to her in the mortal or spiritual realm. He tapped her on the shoulder, doing it very swiftly, as he had to quickly use both paws to straighten his own head. Not waiting for Fira to turn around, he asked.* What is your name spirit? And what is your soul's drive? *Zetuge tapped his finger together almost nervously, a plan had formed in his mind to help his brother, and he hoed almost feverishly that it would work.*

*Fira turned around quickly at the vermin's touch. No one had talk to her since the day she came here.* That ferret... *Her voice was rusty with disuse.* She wants to go back. *The murky water of the Styx gurgled past them. The noise of the struggling deadbeasts was the only sound beside the river and the endless whispering of the Fields of Asphodel.
Suddenly, a ghostly yellow glow ruptured from a badgers sword. He struck down on the ferret with his glowing sword. Spirits feel no pain with normal weapons but this one shocked the ferret into submission. Fira stared horrified at the unconscious ferret.* No... *Fira said quietly.* That will make the fire....
*Remnants of Fira's past life flashed through her mind and reminded her painfully of things long forgotten. Ninety-six years of being comatose had extinguished her spirit. She didn't want that to happen to the ferret, who was so full of life. It was like a breath of fresh air. Fira turned to Zetuge with a ghost of her former spirit in her eyes.* We have to save her.

*Zetuge had no weapon. But he figured the chain-ball on his footpaws would do.* If I help you, will you vow to help me save my brother from this dangerous HELL!?

OOC: Bad Elip!!!! For shame!!!!!!!!!!!
BIC: *Fira stared calmly at Zetuge.* If you can get me to the gates of Dark Forest, yes. I will help you and anyone else who wants to save others. *She looked into the distance.* Maybe that is how we repent. *She looked back at Zetuge.* My name is Fira Kirlwin.

OOC; Ok RInga, let's look at this logically. If you are at Hellgates, then you have just DIED. Now, if you have entered through the gates (obviously b/c you are DEAD) then you are where? When BJ says Hellgates he means the Gates to...thus when I had Zetuge (who is inside, along with Fira) say that, he meant it quite literally. (however, it will not be used anymore as that will make you feel better)
BIC; *Zetuge looked down at his shackles, his soul surging with a renewed sense of purpose, he grabbed the shackles and ripped them from his footpaws. Getting a feel for his new weapon as he twirled it around, he spoke softly.* And if I haven't already said, my name's Zetuge. I will help you, what is yore plan?

OOC: Nah, I don't care, really. I just wanted to give you a hard time. ^_^ cheery topic we're on, huh?
BIC:
Plan? *Fira looked at the ferret, who lay prostrate on the dock.* Um, how about get the ferret, whack some heads, then get out? *Fira looked back in all seriousness. Though, the Fields of Asphodel may be endless but they would encounter Dark Forest sooner or later.*

OOC; that statement reminds me of some one...
*Zetuge frowned even though he smiled inwardly, this is how his last days would be spent. A soul with no purpose but to keep his brother from the wrath to come. He looked at the ferret as he spoke to Fira.* Lead the way.

OOC: Eh? Who?
BIC: *Fira darted in and out of the crowd of souls. Soon she made it to the dock. She hid behind some barrels and watched the badger converse with a noble-looking mouse.*
A little young to be rebelling, huh? *The badger was saying, hefting his sword to his brawny shoulder.*
Yes. *The more conservative mouse replied.* Amazing sword you got there, huh? It can stun a spirit, that's impressive.
