-Name: Dartpaw “Quickquill” Del Grundy
Species: Squirrel
Age: 25 seasons
Personality: Dartpaw is still considered a young squirrel, he has a friendly personality yet was a dangerous warrior.
He doesn’t like slaying vermin but instead teaching them lessons, though if he’s caught off guard he’s in trouble…
He is extremely skilled with a spear and can hit any target as long as he can see it.
He likes mingling with other Redwallers (In no way a loner) but can be a little quiet sometime but that’s from shyness or deep thought.
He tries to give up the way of the warrior for a simpler life of a scholar of even a bard. But he can’t resist his questing tendencies.
But he hates vermin! As well as piercings and tattoos… he doesn’t mind them that much on friends but he can’t stand to look at vermin wearing them.
Appearance: Dartpaw is a red squirrel with a green tunic, he has several fighting scars as tiny as they are he is uncomfortable with others seeing them thinking he’s some tough hardened warrior which he resents.
He is slightly shorter than the average squirrel. (By two inches)
He admires his fluffy red fur and he isn’t that good a climber.
He’s a little chubby (Just slightly)
History: He was born in a settlement called Greenhills, his father was named Porro and mother Treedancer. When he was born a fox named Bloodtooth came into their home.
(He ran the settlement as a sort of mayor. He just came and took over one day, actually a season earlier because he grabbed several babies and gave them to his lackeys who ran off)
‘You let me run village babies be safe, kill me or overthrow me babies die.’
The villagers stricken with grief agreed yet he would never keep his promise of giving the babies back if they had the babies he would have nothing to control the villagers with and he hoped the babies would someday be raised into vermin warriors. (Never hearing of the Taggerung)
He would keep doing that with random babies afterwards.
Until Dartpaw was born.
Bloodtooth saw the cute little squirrel baby with fuzzy fur and puffy cheeks and a tail curled over his eyes asleep.
The vermin screamed waking up Dartpaw.
His parents cowered in fear.
‘Give me child!’
‘No, you are not taking ours! You’ve already taken the children of some of our friends you are not taking the only child we may ever have!!’
Bloodtooth smiled. ‘He will be only child, he have no parents to have any.’
He shot an arrow at Treedancer who was cuddling the baby towards her but Dartpaw caught the arrow in the air with his little paw inches away from his mothers’ forehead.
Bloodtooth scowled. ‘Little warrior eh, he die soon. You all die.’
The next day all the settlers banded together, none were warriors just farmers and parents but while the parents ran off with the babies the other adults tried their best to fight the vermin oppressors.
Bloodtooth died, and the remaining vermin ran off… the settlers found an old locked shack and inside huddled were hungry cold kids seasons lost. Bloodtooth thought doing that would harden them into vicious evil creatures but instead turned them into someday warriors to protect the village incase any other vermin showed up.
The parents were being pursued by vermin and Treedancer accidentally dropped Dartpaw
(Whom was named after the arrow incident but his name before was Ruffle. A cute dibbun name)
The two parents had no time to find him but were mortified of his fate and the baby was found and raised by an otter named Surebush and he took him to Redwall where Dartpaw lived happily while training to be a warrior but going on journeys to find his parents from time to time. Sometimes with his friend the present Rillbrook the Wanderer.
But Surebush went off on his own journey and Dartpaw barely ever saw him that much again except for several visits.
He found his mother, his father still missing.
His mother had since had another son named Daiwa a little dibbun whom Dartpaw loves. And he for a short time adopted a hedgehog.
Daiwa admiring his brother wants to be a warrior too, and as he got a little older constantly begged his mom for training. (He’s seven seasons now) The two relatives live in the woods near the abbey, but when they visit Treedancer fondly calls him Ruffle in front of the other adult Redwallers which was good for a laugh to his embarrasement.)
-Name: Tundo Molpin
Species: Otter
Age: 25 seasons
Appearance: Tundo is a black otter who has a shaggy tail, and only one arm.
A black scarf around his neck which he never takes off in mourning of his arm.
He wears a green tunic and a black belt which he keeps his sword in, and has a tattoo of a red line going from the start to tip of his tail. (Which under the fur lies a white tail bracelet)
He has scars across his chest from battle which a certain cheeky kid teases calling them (Battle Boo-boos)
And a few deep scars on his muzzle giving him a slight frightening appearance.
He is well built, strong muscles (Can Redwall otters have pecs?) and his tail is even thicker than most but it's so fluffy no beast takes it seriously.
History: Tundo was from a poor family of just him and his parents.
They were always hungry so he took up the sword in friendly combat in order to win food from the defeated opponent.
At 18 seasons he was a very skilled fighter, but did it only for the food... until love for fighting took over and he became wild and unpredictable in battle.
He was unmatched with the sword and became such a powerful fighter nobeast could even touch him until a vermin snuck up behind him while he was fighting three others and... long story short he only has one arm now.
Even then he was just as skilled with one arm since he only needs one to hold his sword and had slain all four of them.
But he lost his fighting spirit and for a few seasons went into a depression and mellowed until he realized. His goal in life was to fight and why end that? He fought for food before but now he travels the world searching for a woodlander who can best him in friendly combat so far his record streak for winning is 41.
He never stopped fighting in memory of his arm. Once saying to his left arm (With his traveling companions at the time thinking he was nuts.)
"You have to do the fighting for the both of you"
He was originally named Pudgo as a dibbun but changed it saying.
"I am not cute and cuddly anymore, hunger turned me into a slaying beast and I don't deserve to have that innocent name."
(As well as it was embarrassing and he slimmed down as he got older)
He doesn't know he tends to suck on the tip of his tail while he's asleep and
no-one would dare tell him. For hurting his pride and afraid he'll get mad.
He has an irrational fear of spiders. He really really hates spiders...
At one point he was in the Abbey and a spider was on his shoulder and when he felt it he shuddered heavily and ran into the wall bruising his shoulder but he didn't care as long as the spider was dead. Then whimpering "Is it gone!?"
The Abbey dwellers never knew this side of him before now.
(And is his secret shame)
Personality: Is friendly, but very serious.
He isn't the type to ever get enraged unless he is attacked unhonorably like the arm incident, or if a dibbun or innocent goodbeast is threatened. He usually looks grim when traveling but laughs good naturedly at a joke told to him, or watching dibbuns play.
He respects combat very much and is very honorable towards it. Will only attack a vermin or any opponent if he/she is holding a weapon for to him it's not worth killing or fighting an unarmed beast and it wouldn't be a challenge which defeats his whole life's goal. Though many woodlanders (Mainly hares) challenge him to fights bragging of their boxing, kicking and just swift unarmed attacks, He refuses every time.
BUT if a unarmed vermin sneak attacks him, tricks him or he sees the vermin attacking previously mentioned woodlanders then the vermin is as good as dead.
His main traveling companion is a younger male otter about twelve seasons old who looks up to him, and he is his self-appointed guardian because the young otter
"Dwib" is an orphan whose parents were slain by vermin in which Tundo avenged and takes full responsibility in raising Dwib.
Dwib is very skilled with a sling, but he tends to be mischievous and breaks some rules such as if a woodlander or two are camping obviously not looking like warriors he shoots a sling stone and they'd run off in terror in which he'd grab their food bringing it back to Tundo.
(Dwib's father was a thief, a good natured one like Gonff) but Dwib goes a little too far with what he learned growing up and is a little cheeky calling Tundo "Pudgo" from time to time and each time Tundo would ignore him and start walking away with Dwib never sure if he'd come back or not instantly gathers their stuff and hurries to catch up in fear of being abandoned but he eventually forgets and teases him about it again from time to time.
(Tundo Idolizes the Taggerung)
And the two otters each consider that they couldn't find a better traveling partner.
Tundo enjoys traveling with Dwib because he reminds him of his youthful innocence. and finds him funny. (Dwib having a comical personality can think of really good jokes while on the road)
Dwib idolizes Tundo because he thinks he's "Cool" and wants to be a warrior like him but Tundo constantly suggests to him to live a life of peace and be a farmer.
(Dwib really resents that thinking it's boring, but Tundo then suggests he join a entertainment troupe someday where his jokes would be most appreciated. Dwib's still considering it)
But where Tundo WOULD go if Dwib didn't follow him, is to find a woodlander to challenge to cool himself off, find some food and come back but ever since the kid joined his party he had been doing a lot less fighting and actually thinks sometimes.
"Maybe that's a good thing"
That is my Char Tundo.
I may make one for Dwib someday. (I plan on RPing him at some point so there is no doubt) but I pretty much mentioned all there is to know about him so far.
-Name: Swish/Slash Rashem
Appearance: A young weasel thirteen seasons old, he never wore vermin earrings or tattoos, he didn’t think he needed them to look intimidating.
He didn’t even wear any clothing except for a belt which he kept numerous daggers in.
Other than that he looked like a regular weasel with a few scars on his face.
History: He was raised in a vermin settlement where they fight for themselves all the time.
He was named Slash at birth because his parents wanted him to kill the leader of the neighbouring woodlander settlement across the stream which they constantly war with.
Slash was evil! He was psychotic raised for killing his whole life… except one morning while traveling the woods he hit his head and got amnesia.
He didn’t remember who he was or that he was even evil, he was actually nice now.
Slash wandered until he got to the woodlander settlement and they recognizing him as Slash started shooting from the ramparts of the border.
He lay down with his paws over his head crying.
“What a wuss.” Said an otter and brought him in for questioning.
After finding out he didn’t know who he was or that he was even evil. Slash asked politely if he could live there not knowing any other home.
After 3 days of consulting each-other the leaders agreed, one could see in his eyes he was nice now.
Two weeks later the vermin settlement came to get who was rightfully theirs.
Many woodlanders just said. “Here you go”
But Slash refused to go, he liked it there he was happy.
The vermin fought to get him back and the woodlanders fought to defend themselves and Slash technically counted as a woodlander now they couldn’t give him to them.
His parents came and told him to come, saying his name “Slash Rashem”
He suddenly remembered everything!
But still refused to go. (He never had that happy feeling of having friends before he got amnesia and actually changed his whole outlook, though he had his memory he didn’t want to be Slash anymore.)
The vermin left saying they would return everyday until he is back with them.
Slash knew this was all because of him and didn’t want to put them in danger so to avoid any more fighting he left to find his own life changing his name to the friendlier Swish.
Personality: A little shy, tries to be kind but very insecure but also can get very angry (Even violent) at times when things don’t go as planned.
If his vermin instincts (Which he holds in) takes over too much he just walks away and sits somewhere alone until he feels better.
