We all know there are some pretty epic sad scenes in the Redwall books that everyone more or less agree on, like Rose's death. But what about those other scenes you found really sad or made you emotional that other fans don't seem to think matter?
For example, in Outcast of Redwall, Veil's death. Bryony just watched her only son (for all intents and purposes) get murdered by his birth father, who he had been searching for. She held his head in her lap when he breathed his last. Am I the only one here who found that horrifically sad? ....truly?
Another thing for me was in the epilogue to Rakkety Tam we learn that Kersey and Ferdy named their firstborn son after Kersey's twin (who was KIA). That just made me smile and get warm fuzzies. Aww. Named after a hero who was a minor character. I dunno, that just made me really happy. Maybe they'll name the next one after the Brigadier!
So there're a couple of my own overlooked scenes. Does anybody else have any similar thoughts?

I found most of the Taggerung sad. (But good, don't get me wrong!) He was taken away from his family they all thought he was dead for fifteen seasons and weren't reunited until he was almost dying.
And Filorn sang the song she sang to him when he was a baby and though he didn't know who she was and he was unconcious he smiled.
And of course who could forget Felldoh?
But the saddest one I think not well known one is
(Sable Quean Spoilers!!!)
Flandor, he was just a kid and he died heroically saving a Dibbun from being torn apart. The cool thing was that Vilaya died not by the fact she kidnapped the dibbuns, or tried to conquer Redwall.... but because she killed Flandor. The only reason the badger (Forgot her name) chased her. Causing her to stab herself with poison shards.

I'm not normally a soppy person, but I'll fully admit to bursting into tears with Skarlath's death. Just Sunflash's furious, grieving wail made me sob outloud.
Also, in Luke The Warrior, when Martin drops a striped pebble into the water at his father's grave... I don't know why, but that still makes me wibble.
Also, Iolana, you're not the only one who cried over Veil. Reading Outcast again just yesterday, I thought he was kind of an ungrateful brat, but I still felt sort of grimly sad for him. He was such a fish out of water at Redwall, after all.

Yeah, Taggerung was a pretty sad book overall.... kinda dark, too, especially where Nim was concerned. =o Been a while since I read that... I haven't read Luke in a long time either! ....I don't even think I have it! *panicky face* That sounds like exactly the scene I'd get sad over, small things like that. D: I always wondered why Veil threw away what he had. He knew he'd been abandoned in a ditch, and he was "good" at some point as a small dibbun.... why did he decide to be so evil? He had no reason to. OH YEAH, and Sable Quean! I gotta say, Clarinna and Clerun.... what happened there.... and when Buck heard.... trying to type this without spoiling, lol--- anyway, that was epically sad to me. D: Random: My Sable Quean OTP is Buckler/Clarinna. *brick'd*

I cussed when the one vermin was killed by the stupid voles in the tunnel, remember from taggerung... HE COULD HAVE BEEN ANOTHER VEIL OR BLQGGUT!
Also in TSQ, remember the other almost nice character? That vermin thingy on the wallpart...and the otter that was an ***
That part from OOR, was almost identical to abraham lincolns death, this lady put the dying president's head in her lap.

Sabe Quean Spoilers ahead! Globby! Oh, poor, poor Globby! D: He could've become the first good stoat and the first Vermin to live in Redwall if that figgin' Skipper of Otters hadn't beat poor little Globby! BUT NO. THAT STUPID OTTER HAD TO BE A FIGGIN' RACIST. Gosh, I hate the Skippers... Oh, and do you know how the Abbeybeasts talked to him while he was hiding from them!? They talked to him like they were the smarter beasts, as if they were gods and Globby was a little tick. But they're not! Becuase you know of another example I can used!? Like an abusive parent to a beaten child. THAT'S another example I can use. I breathed a sigh of relief when Marjoram started thinking and began to treat poor little Globby like another child of Redwall. And then guess what!? That bellringer got this "good idea" to ring the bell, and then Globby died in the most hideous way I can think of! I would never make my characters die like that! NEVER! Thankfully Globby was able to stab the idiot to death. >_> I wish he had the chance to kill the Skipper, to tell the truth.

I really thought Globby had potential to reform... I didn't find him evil just a scared kid who wanted to be back with his friends.
If he didn't die I know he wouldn't been good, he did co-operate at points. (Out of fear) but if they were just nicer to him instead of (Slamming him into a table with a knife to his nose) the second they see him... Skipper had anger issues... no wonder he didn't have a crew.
(BTW what's does OTP stand for? I don't know what "Brick'd" means either. Sorry I am out of touch with you young'uns with your internet and telephones and electricity... ;D )

OTP = one true pairing (favorite couple) *brick'd* = *bricked* = got bricks thrown at me = ....please don't throw bricks at me...! Left over from my stint in the anime fandom. ^^;; I was just being random, didn't mean to confuse~
And DANG. I gotta reread TSQ, I don't remember Globby. Was he the one that snuck into the Abbey in the beginning and fell asleep in the kitchens?
