Halloo! ;D 'Tish time for the second RP situation! Your char is clinging to the mast of a ship, in a storm. Letting go of the mast would mean almost certainly falling off the ship, but they see another beast go overboard, on that they've argued with since they first started their journey. What do they do? Dun dun dun DUUUUUN!

Malum was hanging to the mast, hanging on for dear life. Suddenly, an otter fell overboard! She watched as the otter screamed, and got swept under by a huge wave. She looked around, and saw a heavy duty rope hung up right on the mast. She threw it, and yelled out. "CATCH THIS!" The otter grebbed it, and she pulled him in. Suddenly the storm left, and the otter layed on the deck, gasping for air. Malum patted his back as he gagged on the salt water. He looked up at Malum and gasped out. "Thank ye'..." Then, he collapsed, unconscious. Malum dragged him into his bunk, and layed him there. Then, she left.

*The storm tossed the boat to and fro, the wind howling as it blew salt water into Paprica's face. Giant waved rose and fell, making the large ship seem like a toy boat. Paprica clung onto the mast, trying not to get swept overboard. Others were hanging onto ropes, trying to get below deck to wait out the storm. Only the captain stayed at his position, trying to see ahead in the sweeping rain.
Paprica footpaws inched forward, paws still clutching the mast. She looked up as a sea otter lost his grip and came hurtling past her. She recognised the brightly colored headband of the first mate. She reach out a paw, but it was too late. He hit the surf with a splash, and was immediately swept under the boat by the ever-powerful tide. Paprica looked away. There was nothing she could do.*

((Meh, might as well XD ...Plus I'm not really sure if I like her =P))
Water ripped at Hanna's footpaws, threatening to drag her from the mast she was clinging to, which seemed as brittle and and unreliable as a birch twig in the iron-hued sea. Coughing, she peered through the salty residue clouding her eyes. The mouse skittered dangerously on the wood planks of the ship's deck, and she caught a brief glance of another beast's paw snatching in vain at a stayrope. Though her ears could not detect even the loudest noise, she could tell the squirrel was screaming by the way his mouth was gaping in hopeless panic. Squinting around, she caught sight of a stray cord and jumped towards the squirrel, forgetting in a split second where she was and thinking the cord would be close enough once she had grabbed the beast's paw. Issuing a strangled noise, Hanna reached towards the squirrel's paw and slipped on the treacherous wood, then glanced back in horror towards the mast as a stormy, white-ridged wave pushed her away, at the same time knocking her into the squirrel.

(ooc: Wow, Fierce, you must really hate Hanna... ) What the Hellsgates made Brainard think it would be fun to go on a boat!? He was a cat for grief's sake! But then he remembered of that ottermaid, Lisolette, telling him that he looked stress and should go on a boat, it always worked for her. He knew that she meant well, and he had been stressed out at the moment...but still...a cat. On a boat. Brainard clung soaking wet to the mast of the Gentle Spirit, a pretty, white trading ship that covered the Mossflower Area and the Southsward. They weren't in that maelstrom that Joseph the Bellmaker and company had adventured into, just in a storm. He saw a mole (surprisingly) be flung into the ocean, screaming for his life before crashing into the waves. Brainard held his breath, tensing his muscles. The mole was just another guest that had to go to the Southsward to visit his aunt and uncle, but at the same time was deeply anti-Vermin, and by the time he realised Brainard was coming on board of the Woodlanders ship, it was to late, and the mole pulled a temper tantrum. Two sea-otters tried to hold him down, but the mole had wiggled, punched, and kicked so much that it was hard to keep the beast down, so Brainard had to smack him cold. When the mole awoke, he started right where he ended. Sighing, Brainard flung himself off the mast and into the enraged sea. It was dark, and the wildcat was battered to and through as he did a heart-stopping search to find the mole. But at last, his paw rubbed against the moles velvety back, and swiftly grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. Together, they resurfaced. But to only see the Gentle Spirit crash, splinter, and crumble against a large rock. Crew-members went down screaming, swallowed by the sea, crushed against lumber (some of them had even helped built it), or flattened upon impact on the rock. Blinking away both tears and sea-water, the cat went over to the rock and layed the mole onto its hard back. He was unconcous, but living. Brainard dived back into the torrent, but he wasn't able to save anybeast, nor was there any for those who were on the rock. Sighing, Brainard dragged the mole up more onto the rock, just in case, and sat next to him. Soaking from ear to tail-tip. His night was sleepless, but an hour before dawn the mole awoke and gasped at what he saw. "Wut 'appened 'ere!?" He cried. Brainard didn't answer. Luckily for the two survivors, a boat called Swampdusk (after where it was built and the time it had been completed) that was manned entirely by shrews found them and allowed them on board. After hearing where they were from, and their wanting to return home, the shrews heading was north, to Mossflower Country. On the last day of the voyage, the mole walked up to Brainard. "...Thank ye..."

Down clings tightly to the mast of the ship, his eyes squinting tightly against sheets of rain that batter the deck along with dark, rolling waves. The ship ebbs up and down, side to side, as if trying itself to escape the violent storm's grasp. Each ebb bringing a bigger wave that tears down the deck, whisking even the sturdiest of paws from the deck. Down watches through the falling rain, silhouetted against the the black sky by a flash of lightning, an otter at the helm, clutching to the wheel. A wall of dark liquid smashes into him, ripping him from the wheel and washing him over the rail. Some shouts were exchanged between several other crew beasts, but they were unintelligible. He questions jumping in after the otter. "No", he thinks. "I can't do this." He looks around but nothing is there to help. He looks out into the sea with anger... He holds tighter to the mast and shuts everything out.
