I don't know why I made this because it could break my heart but, Which do you think is the worst Redwall book? You can choose 2 and change your votes if you would like. Don't forget to tell us why, cause you just can't be mean without a reason. Plus I'm nosy. ;D xx

I honestly don't prefer any of them over eachother.....mainly because I haven't read all of them. They're all good in my view!

Redwall, and Mattimeo.
redwall, because of the messed up charries with horses, dogs, and all the other crap they put in there.
Mattimeo because Warbeak died.

Weell, it was the first book written, he was just getting into the swing of things. ;D Yeah I suppose deaths are pretty sad. But no good book is complete without one! Pretty good reasons though.

I LOVE THEM ALL! But my least favorite is Legend of Luke, becuase...erp, spoiler to some SO DON'T READ THE REST OF THIS POST DAWG! But becuase of that little water rat son, um...forgot his name, but he threw sticks at them? Well, at first I think they thought of him as a mouse (I guess he was short or something), and they just said to forget about him, but when they realized he was a rat they started slinging rocks at him! Also didn't like it when that little rat go spanked by his pappy for "lying", when he wasn't. And then to add insult to injury for me, Martin asks Trimp, "Doesn't that sound wonderful?" or something of the sort...and then Trimp agrees with him... THAT. WASN'T. WONDERFUL NOISES, MARTIN. THAT WAS CHILD ABUSE! But I still love the Legend of Luke just the same.

I think you need to write a powerful letter to relieve yourself of your anger against child-abuse. Especially rat child-abuse. xD
I never really thought about it like that. Seeing it that way, it is a interesting point. *Goes into deep thought*

I chose doomwyte. Baught it for my Kindle and wasn't exactly impressed. The book was pretty much about a treasure hunt with a villain loosely attached. You could literally remove the bad guys in the book and it wouldn't affect the main plot in any way. Kind of unappealing if you ask me.
The rest that I have read have been fine aside from the obvious 'guideline' brian uses to write his books. Thankfully he was able to work around that.
So far my Favorites remain to be Legend of Luke, Salamandastron and Loamhedge.

I should, Fwif, I should. Give it to the president, then he can use it in one of his little speeches to give his financial policies more lift. :3 That's how I would use it! ;D "Guidline"? What'chu mean by that?

I've found that a lot of brians earlier books seemed to run off of the same story structure with each one. Just different characters and a plot twist involved. Read brians first 5 publications and take notes, you'll see what I mean.

:/ Um...Are you saying that the first five always involve attacks on Redwall or something? I've read the first four books, but...I'm quite confused. Ah, well...My mind's not much anyway. -_-

Well, if anything. Storyline is essentially the same, plot. Protagonists, antagonists, etc. Just a bit too simular, you could essentially read the same book simply by switching the names around amongst them. Brians worked out of that habit though

Martin the Warrior, b/c it's overrated, and Salamandastron, 'cause it's boring.
Redwall wasn't as good, but it was the first one, and his writing was still developing. I didn't like Mattimeo much, either, but you could only pick two, and it's not terrible or anything, so I left it out.
@tydan, you're right. A lot of them are pretty similar, having Redwall get attacked, and them solve a riddle, thus winning the battle, but most of them are different enough to still be fun to read.

I didn't mind Salamandastron as a book. Could have been more but some of the characters have been an inspiration for my own, they were really well worked out. Its an improvement from the others around the time of its publication if you ask me.
Once i'm done the bulk of my classwork in the next month I think I might do a chart on the redwall books and similarities, would be interesting to see all of the similarities over the time and how they've dispersed as Brian changed his writing methods.
