Dutch, ((RPed by Tydan)) a rat who sees himself as a 'good guy' sat on a tree stump, deciding which direction to take on his journey. After much thinking he set himself the task of building a lean-to.
Further down river the lone wildcat Momoko ((Me)) collapsed from exhaustion in the mud of the bank, instantly knocking herself unconscious. The cat's footsteps alerted Dutch of her presence and he slowly edged towards her still form. After deciding she was worth saving, he dragged her limp body back to the clearing he was working in before going back to creating his temporary accommodation.
A squirrel named Ringa ((Paprica)) sat on a boulder, contently staring at her surroundings. Noticing two figures in the distance she hopped down from her perch, yelling to get there attention. Finally reaching the clearing, she realised her luck. A rat and an injured wildcat. Not forgetting her manners, Ringa offered her assistance as the wildcat woke and pulled herself up slowly and Dutch pointed out that Momo may need some help. The group introduced each other as Ringa tended to the wildcat's wounds, forcing her to eat a few foul tasting herbs.
Rat and Wildcat soon got into a back and forth argument about the prejudice against rats and how Dutch had been so quickly labelled a criminal even after helping Momoko. Feeling the tension and unsure of what to do, Ringa pulled out some food and handed out the cheese and bread. Dutch was very thankful, glad to be eating anything with a taste. Momoko however threw herself into a mood and snatched the food from the confused squirrel.
After the small meal Dutch asked if there were any towns nearby. Ringa soon mentioned Redwall Abbey which seemed to catch his attention. After much thought into whether she could trust the rat she mentioned that the Abbey was a peaceful place for all creatures.
More discussion followed about what they would find there before the trio decided they would head towards the Abbey.
