Guest looked at the squirrel and stoat, nonplussed. He reached for his bow, but the stoat seemed young, small, and not violently inclined. Th squirrel made him smile. The scar on his forehead cracked as he did so, and he winced slightly. "An' where is your brother, laddie? Ye ain't wandering out 'ere alone, are ye?" Something about Daiwa reminded him of... What? A sibling? A child? Guest shook of the feeling of deja vu, and smiled again, tentatively, at first. This time his scar didn't pain him, and he smiled wider.

Daiwa pointed to his brother lying face down in the sand. 'He's snoozing, Dartpaw hasn't slept in a long time... He's really... really.... (He couldn't think of the word) Detournined? To find our Mom, who wants to find our Dad. Neither of us knew our Dad and he is working really really (Stretches his arms wide) hard to find both. Are all of you on quests? I want to be a warrior someday!! But all mom does is make me read books to become a.... what's the word? Skuller. She thinks I'm gonna be the next abbot or something but I just want to play like a normal kid and train to fight so no-one will be like my brother was' (He whispered) 'He grew up not knowing our parents because of vermin' He ran over and tried to turn his big brother around so he could breath easier but he was too heavy.

Lyre watched the stoat and squirrel converse, relaxing a little. She didn't seem to be any kind of threat, and an enemy would not have approached so boldly if outnumbered. Unless there were others, but Lyre doubted that. He shifted his gaze from the stoatmaid to Guest when the otter spoke, then abruptly to the little squirrel again when he realized there was another, presumably wounded, squirrel laying about.
Lyre approached the other squirrel -- Dartpaw, was it? -- and, nudging the little squirrel aside, turned him over to check his breathing.
"Not many happy pasts around 'ere, are there? 'Ey, you two, gimme a paw," he added, looking at Guest and twitching an ear at the stoat. "Introductions later, this bod looks like he could use some help."

Daiwa was young and smart (From his constant studies) except for pronouncing hard words. But sometimes he didn't know when to keep his mouth shut.
'He's tough I think he'll be okay. He's a great warrior you should see him with a spear! He can hit any mark even any tree in the orchard from the highest window in the abbey! And he wants to be friends with you guys because he was eavestroughing on you to see how nice you guys were.' (When in reality Daiwa was sort of right, Dartpaw was listening to see if they could be trusted and if he should take Daiwa out of the area. But thought the little guy was sleeping not expecting him to dash out like that. And when Dart Darted after him he not having much sleep collapsed from exhaustion)

Praline got up, and walked over to Dartpaw.
"You need help ?" Shye asked.
She pondered for a moment.
"Is he asleep or unconsious? Because If he's unconscious then he shouls be elevated, to stop the blood rush to his head.." She said.

(ooc: Care if I hopped in?)
Watchet arranged his crooked top-hat, "Hmm-hmm...Wot's tah' find tahday? Hmm-hmm, wot's tah find tahday!" He sang, skipping along happily. Today, he wore his old Redwall Abbey habit, unlike his common brown shirt. But that had gotten dirty, so the little mousebabe donned on his habit. Watchet wiggled his pink tail, and as he skipped along, a song formed out of his throat.
"There was a Woodland paaaath, That I walked, escaping a baaaaaaath, Pears and apples, Fruits and tapples, (Wotever that is) on that Woodland paaaath...
My fur had dried mud, and I fell with a thud, into a cold river, That made me ashiver!
The bader mum looked own at me, her gaze of stern ferocity, "Well, well, well!" She said, "Look at all the trouble ye got yourself in'un!" I looked up at her and said, "Aye, but at least I took my bath'n!"
Watchet chuckled to himself at his silly song, "I wonders wot Dab would've thought if I had thought that'n up at Redwall..." He sighed, and homesickness befell the poor mousebabe. Tears sprang up, and Watchet wailed aloud.
"Waaahaa! I want me mommy! Booohooo! I want Red'all! Waaaaah!"
He did not realize that other beasts were in earshot of his cries...

Praline heard the cries and nearly jumped out of her skin.
"What was that?" She asked, walking over towards the cries.
Then, she spotted a little lump on the ground, and got closer.
"Hey, there's a little mousebabe here....

[[Hey, Lis! =3 Everyone, not too far without Vela, yes...?]]
Lyre ruffled the fur on the back of his head with one paw, causing the bands around his wrist to crash with his earrings.
"Elevated?" he repeated, narrowing his eyes thoughtfully at the stoatmaid. "Why should that matter, exactly?"
Then he heard what sounded like the distant crying of a small child. His ears shot straight up, earrings swinging wildly, and he stood to his full height, turning slightly. Sure enough, there looked to be a small creature in the distance.... and.... a top hat?
"Oh, good grief!" the gypsy hare said, exasperated. "I was wrong, Guest, there's all sorts of creatures around 'ere, we just wasn't lookin' hard enough, it seems. Hang on, I'll go see wot's up." He left Dartpaw with the otter and squirrel child, and followed the stranger stoat, jogging swiftly over to a mousebabe.
"Ah, hey, er," he said. Lyre had never known quite what to say to small young ones, especially when they were crying. He knelt, thinking hard. "Er, that's a nice hat y've got, young 'un. Wot's wrong?"

Praline smirked.
"Yeah... A REALLY nice hat." She said, almost snickering.

(ooc: =3 Well, I wasn't really trying to get far without Vela. I was thinking that maybe Watchet was behind a...bush...or something...)
BIC: Watchet stopped crying, "You...you think it's a...nice hat...?" He sniffled, and touched the brim, "...I...I guess it is a nice hat, isn't it...." He smiled a bit, "Thank ye." Watchet turned to Praline, "You're a nice'un! ...Even though yer a stoat..." Watchet made it as if it was a compliment.
He turned to Lyre, "And your ears s'all loopy!" The mousebabe giggled, reaching for one of the hares ear-rings. But then he was distrascted by some other beasts. Two squirrels and an otter. Smiling widely, Watchet ended his paws quest for jewelery and tugging on them really, really hard and waved at them, "Hoi!!"
After the greeting, Watchet continued to reach out for Lyres ear-ring.
(ooc: x3 Watchet's so cute!!)

[Oh, sorry! My bad. x3 Watchet is really cute! I'm a little confused, though; did he grab on to Lyre's earrings and then wave, or grab and wave at the same time?]
Lyre stared at the mousebabe as he began reaching for the hare's face, and wondered briefly if he should back off. But then the mouse appeared to be distracted by the sight of Guest, Dartpaw, and Daiwa.
"Yeah," he said in answer to the babe's first response, "it's a-- a-- a really splendiferous hat! I actual-- Owowowow!" It appeared Watchet hadn't been done reaching out for the shiny things, and Lyre almost fell flat on his face as one of his earrings was yanked on.

Dartpaw coughed up sand waking up instantly. His eyes bloodshot from lack of sleep. 'Daiwa! I keep telling you not to talk to strangers!' He moaned not even noticing who these creatures were. And looked around. 'Ugh... did you guys see me pass out? Sorry that's embarrassing... My name is Dartpaw "Quickquill" Del Grundy and this is my little brother Daiwa. Who I will give a stern talking to...' He glared at his brother. 'Now we should be off come Daiwa we have a lot of traveling to do.' He grabbed his pack and started walking when he collapsed again. 'Guys, my brother can't walk like this. Can he spend the night with you?' asked Daiwa.

(ooc: Mmmm...He can keep on reaching for Lyres earring. ) BIC: Watchet giggled at the ear-ring in his paw, "A-A spwendifeewoose!" The mousebabe repeated, and gave the ear-ring back to Lyre, "A spwendifeewose ring!" He giggled, and waddled towards the other beasts. Watchet stopped to stare at Daiwa, as if he was summing him up. Watchet then looked away and shrugged, and continued to waddle away. He stopped at Guest, and looked up, "...You'm a h'otter..." Watchet said, cocking his head and blinking. He pointed to the scar on Guests forehead, "You'm need tah' get patched up! If'n ye don', yew'll mutta be dewwy mad at you!" Watchet huffed, "And she'll say this: 'Yew bad widdah h'ottah! You've been in a fight! Who cuased it, huh!?'" Watchet said, waggling his finger and doing his best to look stern. He continued, "'Ye bettah not've started it, mistah! Now, tell me who gave ye dat scratch, an Oi'll give'em'un right back!'" Watchet didn't have enough expierence to know that a mother wouldn't actually act like that.

May I join please?
Wendyl sat with her back to a sand dune, listening to the conversation. The young mole yawned, bored with everything and everyone, and annoyed that there was no one here to heal. She had peeked over at the creatures once or twice, and, after looking them over, she had decided that they were all perfectly capable of protecting themselves. When she heard the hare yell, she jumped up and ran up the dune, dissatisfied that it wasn't really an injury. She sat down, started two small fires, and pulled out her healing urn, beginning to boil water for some lavender tea. Hoping that the smell of her tea and the fruitcake she was warming on the other fire would attract attention, she began to set out as many dishes as she had.

[[Woo, biggest number of different posters on one thread since I joined! xD]]
Lyre sat down hard on the sand, nursing his slightly bleeding ear, and cast a jaundiced eye over Watchet's retreating back, earring still clutched in his little paw. So cute, yet so good at causing pain...
"Of course 'e's an otterbeast! Wot'd y'think 'e was, a squirrel?" He called out, slightly irate, when Watchet made his first observation on Guest. He fell silent as the mousebabe proceded to berate the big otter, and found himself stifling a giggle at the remarks.
He was about to make some comment to the non-vermin standing near him when he thought he caught a whiff of something on the breeze. Lyre sprang up, jing clash!, and turned his nose to the wind; if there was one thing hares were good at, it was finding food. And that was most definitely the scent of lavender and-- and-- fruitcake...?
"Er," he said to the strange party of beasts around him, "you sort it out, then, and I guess I'll love y'and leave ye, toodle pip! Pleasure meetin' ye, Guest, and young mouse me boy, don't go throwin' that ring away, it's a nice one. Um." He looked at Praline. "...Aye. Bye? A bod's got t'eat, doncha know."
With that he sprang to the top of the nearest dune and looked around, ears up. Fruitcake, fruitcake, fruitcake.... there! Spotting a small spiral of smoke, the gypsy set off for it.
