Nix scowled at the wildcat. "Away with thine ham-fisted pounding, Ravenchill. I like my spine the way 'tis, thank ye very much." Guest chuckled at the squirrel, and heaved himself up with his staff, favouring his bad leg. "Thankee, Brainard. D'ye two know eachother, per'aps?"

Brainard smiled at Nix before answering Guest's question for her, "Aye, Nix and I know each other. We've been friends for awhile, now." He couldn't exactly remember how long ago it had been since the squirrel-maid and he had met, but he knew it's been at least three seasons, and he can't ever forget how they met... (ooc: Bleh.)

OOC: can I join?
BIC: Roverindon sat in a tree, watching Brainard closely. He new the cat, from somewhere......... The young fox slipped silently to the next tree, sitting down next to the otter in it. His companion, a young female otter, nodded at him in conformation of his presence. Standing, she whispered in his ear. "You go down there. I'm off to the Abbey, see ya!" She took one last look at those below and disappeared, leaving Roverindon to slip down, practically in the middle of the group of creatures. He nodded his head at the reddish ferret. " "Ello miss, I take it that you are the one who has the respect of those mice down aways? They seem to be making a vegatable feast for your return." He turned to the wildcat. "Nice cart by the way, the bottom of in is smoother than most, and the few roots and tubers left are the best I've ever seen." He sat down and began leafing through the large book he had taken out of his satchel, waiting for a reply.

Cheps landed lightly on the Abbey walls, glad of her tree-climbing lessons for the sixty-fifth time. The abbey dwellers were bustling about as usual. She wave at one of the squirrels who were getting fruit from the orchard. Running lightly down the stairs, she greeted her friend. "Good morn, Brother Oakheart, what is the news today? Any new mischief boiling in the hearts and eyes of the dibbuns?" Oakheart shook his head. "None that I know of, Skipper Chepsonek, what bring you from your happy little sea home?" Cheps smiled and tapped her rudder on the ground knowingly. "Oh, just some whispers of a quest to the Mountain, any mischief in thos who have passed their dibbun days?" Oakheart thought a moment, then answered. "Why yes, come to think of it, I heard your friend Thrush talking about a quest in one of the rooms. Why?" But his question fell on no ears but his own, his otter friend already streaking to the main building. Cheps ran in the big double-doors heading towards the sounds she heard. She peeked around a door and, seeing Thrush, she walked confidently in. "Hello Mateys! what's this about a quest?"
